Spanish Soccer Schools to take part in Desafio Cup

Spanish Soccer Schools will be travelling to Salamanca in Spain from the 22nd to the 27th of March to take part in the first ever edition of the Desafio Cup.

The tournament will be held from the 23rd to 27th of the month, with some of Spain’s premier youth teams scheduled to take part in the competition, making it a very exciting time for our boys!

With the tournament being split into two formats – seven-a-side and 11-a-side, we’re sure everyone at Spanish Soccer Schools is excited to go back to Spain for yet another memorable sporting trip!

Some of the clubs that’ll send teams to Salamanca are FC Barcelona, Deportivo La Coruña, FC Valladolid, Celta Vigo, Real Betis and Getafe CF.

In addition, youth teams from Sporting Zaragoza and CF Flecha Negra will also join our Spanish Soccer School teams in Spain.

Spanish Soccer Schools have of course had plenty of fond memories to Spain in the past.

Easter over the last two years was one our lads will look back at fondly: they were part of the detachment that travelled to the Spanish capital for their Madrid Easter Camp, taking in some of the best sights and sounds of the city, including iconic sporting venues such as the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, the home of Real Madrid and the Estadio Vicente Calderón, where Atlético Madrid play football.

In addition, they visited the training bases of the Spain National Football team, that swept to back-to-back European Championship titles in 2008 and 2012 and won the FIFA World Cup in 2010.

Previously, our boys made a mark at the Palencia Youth Tournament in Galicia as well as the Cidade Vilagarcia Tournament in Arosa.

But its not just Spain where our boys proved their mettle: last December, at the first time of asking, our SSS Under-12s lifted the Nicosia International Cup, beating teams such as AEK Athens, Red Star Belgrade and Olympiakos Piraeus.

All of us at Spanish Soccer Schools are confident that our boys will triumph in Spain this Easter, and wish them the very best of luck.
